Why Support the Wauwatosa Public Library?
The Wauwatosa Public Library Foundation exists solely to raise funds to enhance the programs and services offered at the library beyond what government funding provides.
Generous donations from individuals like you, area businesses and other foundations purchased all of the furnishings for the Children’s Library, have helped keep the children’s science and math collections up to date, provide computers and Wi-Fi service throughout the building, and construct a stunning new Story Room.
Why Support the Library?
- Because Wauwatosa is a community of readers. More than 36,000 Wauwatosa residents have an active library card and in 2015, they checked out more than 700,000 items from the Wauwatosa Public Library.
- Wauwatosa continues to be the highest circulating suburban library in Milwaukee County.
- Wauwatosa was the first community in the County to offer Internet access to the public. Now, with 26 PCs for public use, there is so much demand for the computers that people have to queue up and wait. Dozens of people every day use the library’s wireless Internet access to search for jobs and fill out online applications.
- By every measure, more of us are using our library more often than in any time in our history. For many, the library is a trove of storybooks to read to our kids. For others, it is the place to go to look for a job.
