Schedule a Class Visit
Teachers working at schools located in the City of Wauwatosa may schedule a class visit to the Library. (Limit 4 per school year.)
What’s In a Tour?
Children’s Librarians will provide programs of:
- Book Talks
- Library Skills
K3-8th grade programs last approximately 30 minutes. Plan an additional 15 minutes for children to choose and check out books. Please remind students to bring their library cards to the program. School year cards are available for students who attend a Wauwatosa school but do not live in Milwaukee County.
Request a Librarian Visit to Your Classroom
Children’s Librarians are available to visit your classroom for storytelling, book talks and to encourage reading.
We limit the visits to 2 visits per grade per school year.
Teacher Request Service
Teachers may request up to 10 items (books, music CDs, recorded books and DVDs) by a given author or on a given subject for classroom use. Please provide 3 days advance notice to the Library.
Get an Online Tutor or Find a Resource 24/7
The Wauwatosa Public Library offers free academic and career resources and tutoring from Brainfuse for all students and adults! K-12 students can get help with homework, studying, projects, essay writing and test prep in every subject, including algebra, statistics, chemistry, physics, social studies and English. All sessions are online and one-to-one with a live tutor.
The Children’s Department librarians look forward to working with teachers in helping their students find books for recreational reading and class assignments. With 4 weeks lead-time, we can pull together a program about specific subjects or genres.
